What will you see in the Reserve?

A tour of the Reserve starts with a 15-minute 3D film, which tells about the history of the Polish State's formation. The production also shows what the stronghold on Ostrów Tumski looked like and illustrates how its defensive walls were constructed.

After watching the film, you enter the hall, where you travel back in time to the 16th century, looking at the remains of the wall surrounding the old bishop's town.

Finally, you reach a two-level terrace, from which you can admire the original remains of a well-preserved rampart built in the time of Mieszko I.

From the upper floor, you can see the whole excavation - a view previously reserved only for archaeologists. There are also multimedia kiosks and video mapping with fascinating information on archaeological research and the earliest history of this place.

On the lower terrace, we present information about the rampart itself - its structure and the materials used in its construction. Besides, you can examine a scaled model of the wall's cross-section and survey the so-called "gallery of ancestors" - reconstructions of faces of the first inhabitants of Poznań.

We believe that you will enjoy this fascinating journey into the past and feel the spirit of this history-rich place.
